Seeing Red

With another semester down, I’ve been taking some time to play around in my art studio. Here’s what I’ve done so far:

A red pear.
A red sycamore leaf.
A cardinal.

I’m guessing that as grading season falls further and further into the past, my color palette will become a little more diverse…

I absolutely love them! The Red Period is interesting considering the timing with the end of the semester, as you hinted. 😉 I look forward to seeing more and really appreciate you sharing these!

Thanks, Faith! It’s nice to have a fan of my work!

  2. You know that I love red. It is the color of my couch and kitchen. You selling?

  3. The above pictures represent Marc Schuster’s “Red Period,” which sounds much more disgusting than it actually is. The use of red could signify the infamous “red pen,” angrily marking up students’ work at the end of a long semester. Or, more likely, it could represent the painter’s visions of murder and/or suicide as he closes yet another year of professorship.

  4. […] not sure why, but I’m drawn to painting red pears. With any luck, I’ll also be able to squeeze some writing in before the next semester begins. […]
