Here are a few cool tracks I’m listening to at the moment…
“A White Actor” by The Fisherman and His Soul: I first heard this one on Janglepop Hub and loved the 60s garage vibe. Great trumpets with strong echoes of “Alone Again” by Love!
“In Spite of It All” by Unquiet Nights: I heard about these guys on Eclectic Music Lover, and I love their strong vocals and hard-driving 90s vibe. I might also be hearing echoes of New Order, especially in the bass!
“Someone Like You” by Brian Lambert: Another song with a great beat! I love the sound of the snare drum on this, and the synth adds a nice layer of texture. Number eight in Brian’s 52-week song challenge!
“Someone Like You” by Eenian Dreams: Same title, different song! This one has a dreamy, ethereal quality, and the lyrics are particularly evocative: “Rusty bridges over darkness/Like spines of long gone species/No one lives here anymore/Maybe never did.” Such post-apocalyptic images are right up my alley!

LOVE this stuff! To me the Fisherman and His Soul was reminiscent of the 60/70 vibe some, and The Unquiet Nights is strong on the U2 look/vibes, maaan! Nice cuts!
