A revving engine, a soulful bass line, and we’re off to the races… With a crisp, clear vocal reminiscent of Marshall Crenshaw, a gritty, pulsing organ (get your mind out of the gutter!), and drum licks straight out of a Phil Spector session, Bottlecap Mountain’s latest single, “I’ve Got Loving For You” sounds, in a word, like summer. I can imagine it blasting from jukeboxes in bars at all the shore points of my youth and from car speakers up and down the highway. Classic-sounding rock music at its finest, “I’ve Got Loving For You” is the perfect song for kicking off any summer road trip — and it’s out today!

I’m including this song on a Fresh New Tracks post I’ll be publishing shortly, but I also used the words “off to the races”, proving once again that great minds think alike!
They do, indeed!
That’s too funny. A little while ago, I commented about this very song of Jeff’s blog. It’s a fun song! I wonder how the band came up with their peculiar name.
Here’s an interview that includes an explanation of the the band’s name: https://marcschuster.wordpress.com/2023/06/19/like-a-rustic-steely-dan-an-interview-with-stewart-gersmann-of-bottlecap-mountain/
