Things are still a little up in the air with the radio show, so I figured I’d share some new tunes…
“Raindrop” by Impossible Mule: Chris Triggs of the LaLaLettes told me about Impossible Mule. Their latest album, Bombs Away, offers a trippy blend of folk and psychedelia, as exemplifed by “Raindrop.” I’m picking up a Syd Barrett vibe from this one.
“Mingus Dingus” by Mild Horses: I swear it’s just a coincidence that we have a mule and some horses in the lineup this week, but Mild Horses is out with a new album called Grime’s Graves. Here’s what they have to say about it: The first new material in nearly a year from Mild Horses is a typically esoteric and psychedelic mini-suite of songs ranging from experimental jazztronica to a Krautrock inspired groove about the subtle distinctions between the various different midfield positions in football. To my ears, this one calls to mind “Daddy’s Car” by Brian Eno and Karl Hyde.
“In a Daze” by Mick Overmere: Mick Overmere has been on a roll lately, offering a bright blend of instrumental acoustic tracks and bouncy folk-influenced songs that echo Belle and Sebastian. Of his music, Mick’s Spotify bio has this to say: You start with a blank canvas and where there was once nothing, the space is now filled with color, expression and emotion. Music is indeed the universal language!

A nice selection of songs. I especially like the ones by Mild Horses and Mick Overmere.
Thanks, Jeff! Things are still tenuous with the radio station. Quizboy is managing to keep it running for another month with some possible downgrades in service that will only be noticable on the back-end. But I’ll be back next week with some new music.
Thank you for the recommendations!
Sure thing!
