Goin’ Analog

This is fun… My song “Pour One Out” from In the Weeds is included in the latest compilation from the Rue Defense Tape Club. As noted on their webiste, the RDTC is “a quarterly, mail-order, compilation cassette club. We also have a podcast and a newsletter.” So it’s kind of like a literary magazine for songs, and I’m excited to be included along with…

It’s also pretty cool to be listed on a J-card… Now all I need to do is find someone with a working tape deck so I can give it a listen!

  1. This is awesome! I need to find my old cassette player so I can join!

    1. It’s a very cool project!

    2. I have a hand sized cassette player i used to record my vocal lessons ions ago. This is awesome Marc both getting your music on a cassette and being part of this group. I used to make so many mixed cassettes and swap with friends. Honestly cannot remember how we created them. Sigh a bit sad.

      1. Thanks! I actually started a very small cassette-based label when I was in college. I ordered cheap cassettes in bulk and put out music that a couple of my friends had made. My goal was always to just break even.

  2. Congrats! During my teenage years and into my twenties, I used to buy blank cassette tapes and tape music like a maniac – from the radio, from vinyl records, from CDs and sometimes from other cassette tapes. At some point, I had more than 200 cassette tapes!

I meticulously labeled each cassette and had separate note books, in which I also documented all music. I guess you could say I was a little intense!😆

    1. Just a little!

      1. My dear wife would call it OCD! 🤣

  3. Are kidding me? HOW COOL! I don’t know how long I’ve been saying now that I’m doing my records and CDs thing still but surely something will come along to put me in a “now I’m doing cassettes too” position. Prophesy fulfilled.

    1. It’s fate!
