Punk funk outfit the Saturday Brothers released their first full-length album, Make Up Your Mind today. Delayed when the band’s practice space was hit by a tornado, the album offers a poly-rhythmic punk funk explosion that is often humorous and sometimes serious. The new release follows lots of starts and stops that accompanies busy lives. Recorded over many years in a basement, Make Up Your Mind features Clint Smith on drums, Nick Evancho on Vocals/Guitars, Stefan Kelly on Guitar, Phil Ricci on percussion, various bass players and highlights Nappy Sax (Mike Neu) on saxophone on two tracks.

The song in the YouTube video, “Hot Mess,” sounds cool. It’s been a while I last heard a kazoo – it works! I also sampled some of the tracks on their new album – groovy stuff that makes we want to listen to more of the group’s music!

Yeah, I’m trying to think of other songs that use a kazoo. Early Pink Floyd, maybe? Did the Beatles use a kazoo on “Lady Madonna”?
