Musically, “Silencio” is a bit of a rehash of “Vertigo,” but I give U2 credit for speaking to truth to power with the video’s implicit critique of ICE.
Side note, “Silencio” will always make me think of this scene from David Lynch’s Mulholland Drive:

I love seeing big names like this step in and take action when our politicians can’t or won’t That’s something Bono has never shied away from!
Absolutely!
I’ve come to the conclusion that ICE must be eliminated as an agency. Gotta give credit yet again to U2 for speaking truth to power, which they’ve successfully done for more than four decades. And Mulholland Drive is unquestionably the weirdest, most impenetrable and provocative film I’ve ever seen. I both loved and hated it.
I agree with you completely on all counts — and doubly so on your point about ICE.
That song sounds pretty good. I love U2’s first six albums and select songs thereafter. I generally have not been much impressed with their output over the past 20 years. They are still a great live band, though. I saw them in July 2017 at MetLife in New Jersey during their Joshua Tree 30th anniversary tour. I’m curious about their forthcoming album “Carnaval da Luz,” which is set to drop Nov 13.
I’ll be curious to hear that one, too!
